Almost there

I apologize that I haven’t written any blogs due to finals. As you have been busy with finals, I also have been awfully busy. I still have one more final left on Wednesday, and then will leave California on the next day to Indiana. How have you been doing with your finals? So far so good? It seemed like this semester was a lot harder than the previous semesters for a number of students including me. I guess some of you are already done and others still have one or two more to go till the end. But I have got to say that we need to remember that everything for this semester will be officially over in a couple of days. Aren’t you excited?

I took one final exam and just got back home today. Since the weather was too gorgeous, it made me feel that I wanted to do something fun, not just go back home. So I called some of my friends, and none of them answered. How rude. Now here I am in my room writing a blog alone! Very exciting! : ) I wished it was raining so some happy people who were out there having fun should have come back home. Haha just kidding. I should start packing sooner or later and send one box to Korea so I can wear clothes and use other stuff for this summer there, and then need to fill up one carry-on for my upcoming trip. This is the real exciting part!

For me, this semester was hard and stressful but very rewarding. It was definitely worth the money, time and efforts. I met many great instructors and fellow students and learned a lot from them, and will never forget this semester. I will have to study for my last final pretty soon so that I won’t regret what I just said. Also, Writing blogs here was a great experience for me.

I just want to say that I am truly blessed for all I have done and have gotten.

After all, tomorrow is another day, Brianna.

yay!

I cannot wait for this summer to come. I have so much going on this summer and it is going to be amazing. I am going camping this weekend. I have not been camping in quite some time and I know this is going to be awesome because I am going with my best friend and her family. After that in the beginning of July her is getting married and we will be having a blast the entire weekend, which happens to be the 4th of July weekend. The weekend of the 15th in July is a tournament in Santa Clara and I will be able to play water polo with the girls that were on my team this year. It will be so exciting to play with those girls one final time. I am going to miss playing with them like crazy. The entire week after that I will be going to Yosemite with Azusa Pacific University. It will be so much fun. I have never really done anything like this before and I cannot wait to see what it is about. In August I will be going to Vegas of course for water polo not for vacation but it will still be a great time. I hope everyone has an exciting summer just like I plan to have. I really want to know what everyone else will be doing this summer.

we come down to the wire...

I hope everyone is getting all of their work taken care of and we are not stressing out too much. I know that it is the last week coming up but we have all made it through the entire semester. I want to say congratulations to all of the graduates this semester. I hope that everyone is having a blast and stuff is getting taken care of. This is definitely not the time to slack off. As for me I only have one more final and it is tomorrow. I cannot wait to be completely done with everything. I just want the grades to close and end this semester. I know everyone is probably feeling the same way. I really did enjoy all of my professors this year and I highly recommend that everyone take them if they need to take a certain class that they offer. Angie Andrus is the best Sociology teacher ever! She makes everything entertaining and enjoyable. She is a teacher that makes you want to come to class to see what she is going to come up with next. Heidi Guss teaches English classes and I suggest that if you need or want to take Children's Literature you should take it with her. She does group discussions all the time which really help get you more involved and also it makes sure you are keeping up with all of the work. Callista Lee is so funny and you could tell she loves what she does. She teaches Human Sexuality and is very informative. I would recommend these three ladies to anyone. This semester was the best I have had in a long time.

crunch time!

As of right now, at this very moment, at this very second in time, I have began crunch time. I have a seven page research paper due in less than a week and yet I cannot decide what I would like to write it on. It is for my children's literature class and this paper pretty much determines what my grade will be for the class. Bomb the paper, fail the class. I have decided to be a good student and start this paper today hoping to finish it by the end of this week so I will have the weekend to work and relax. I cannot believe that I have two of my finals next week already. One more week of classes and I am done until summer. I cannot wait until summer starts but at the same time I do like that I have been able to sleep in this semester. It was nice while it lasted. I will miss my sleep greatly! I am so nervous and excited to graduate and transfer to APU. I will be practicing with the team in the fall and still attending some classes here at Fullerton as well as helping coach the women's water polo team here. I am excited to see all the talent this school will have next year and cannot wait for the girls to have a great season just like I did. If there is anything fun going on this summer let me know.

3 weeks left

I never expected that time would go this fast. We have only 3 weeks left till the end of this semester. I started counting down the days towards the 25th, which will be my last day of finals. As I mentioned before, I will leave for Indiana where my little sister is living. My mom will be there too for my sister’s high school graduation, then the three of us will head to New York for a week of fun. Afterwards, we will go to Toronto also for a week where my grandparents and cousins are living. What about my dad? Well he can’t join us because of work. Poor dad, I feel so bad for him because while my mom, sister and I have traveled many times abroad, my dad has never joined us. He is a hard worker, and I have never seen such a hard worker in my whole life. He will just see many pictures of us having fun during our trip just like he always has.

In Korea, it is parents’ day on May 8th whereas it is Mother’s day here. So, I talked to my parents for a while. I think my parents are so amazing not because they are my parents, but because they are the ones who let their two kids study abroad for such a long time costing big money and stand the fact that they miss their kids so bad. I feel blessed and sorry at the same time, and always think that I need to be successful for not only myself but also my parents who have been always supportive and will be as well. I have been looking forward to this summer because I will see my parents and friends and have a great time with them!
We have a short time left until the final exams. We’ve got to continue what we’ve been doing, and then great rewards will be given to us at the end. I can’t wait for the time I can get rewarded for all the efforts.

Be aware!!

I have recently found out that someone was attacked in one of the restrooms on campus. I do not have details, but from what I was told it was two o'clock in the afternoon. That is something that really scares me. I have been paranoid lately because we have been discussing rape and personal attacks in my classes. I know that it is important to be aware of our surroundings as we walk around and go about our everyday lives. I think that we all need to be more cautious in our daily activities. Being aware is important because it could save our lives one day. I hope everyone thinks about the things they do and how they should be aware of everything around them and understand that things happen and we need to be ready for them. I think that everyone should be mindful about walking around listening to their music. When we are in our own world that makes us more susceptible to being attacked. I am not saying that we should worry about all that we do in our lives but being aware can save our life or someone else's life. I did hear that the guy that did attack the lady on Monday was arrested the same day. Just because he was arrested does not mean nobody else is capable of doing the same thing he did. So please people be aware and listen to your instincts. If you are scared you can do things to protect yourself. If you ever feel afraid to walk to your car anytime throughout the day you could always call campus security and they will escort you to your car.

Well, people stay safe! Until my fingers meet the keys, Amber

Great Opportunity!!!

As most of us know Gabriel Martinez, the Fullerton College Women's Water Polo coach is now the head coach for the Women's National Team for Mexico. I am so proud to be coached by someone so great at what he does. I am inspired by how hard he works and how much he truly cares about the players as individuals and as a team combined. I cannot believe the wonderful opportunity he has been given. Also, I am so grateful to be a part of it. I have my own water polo practice from 7am to 930am during the summer with the Fullerton water polo girls and then after that I will be practicing from 10am to 1pm with the Women's Mexico Team. I am so excited. I have always felt like I was cheated out of so many opportunities when I was in high school because my parents could not afford to let me have everything or for me to join different types of water polo clubs, but experiences such as these make everything that I have been through worth it in the end. Just to be in the water with these girls that have so much determination and dedication is absolutely amazing and inspiring. I am confident that I will be able to keep up with them and add to the practices in only positive ways. I cannot wait for this summer and I look forward to it as the days drift by.

Sorry

I am so sorry for the super last minute posts this week. I know that it is very late and that it is weird that I am writing but I have been having so many problems with my laptop and my Internet lately. My mom has been going on craigslist everyday, she is crazy addicted to it and I think my laptop received a virus from the site. I hope everyone has had a great week and I do hope everyone enjoyed their spring break and Easter just as much as I have. I was glad to be back to school and back to my routine but I am sad the break is over. It was much needed and I think I will need another one soon! On a brighter note only about two more weeks of classes. I cannot believe that it has already been the entire semester. I am going to miss all of my professors and all the wonderful people I have met throughout the semester. At the beginning of the semester one of my professors told us, "you never know, the person sitting next to you may be your soul mate." I thought this was funny and was not likely to happen this semester. However, I think it really did! There was a girl sitting next to me in my sociology class and a boy sitting right next to her and they hit it off instantly on the first day of class and have been dating ever since. I think it goes to show we can learn something from our professors. hahaha.

This is so funny!

Only in America ......drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.

Only in America ......people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Only in America ......banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

Only in America ......people leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

Only in America ......people buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

Only in America ......people use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well:
'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

Only in America ......people have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.
